RIO DE JANEIRO

When arriving at the Mengo Palace hotel located 100m from Flamengo beach, our room was at the frist floor. I always mention in my bookings: last floor, non smoking and quiet.  The receptionist ask me to come back in one our while he wants to discuss with his manager. We left and have a lunch around. When coming back we get a quiet and last floor suite with a view on the Redemptor Christ!

So, we wanted to say hello to the Christ, we need to be nice sometimes! We take the clean subway…

 

The trains have cars only for women depending the time of the day. Is it not gentle?

When arriving at the top of the hill we were surprised to be in the clouds! It was so funny to see the Christ clearly and a minute after totally white.

 

I cannot describe the view that Jesus have got! The best on Copacabana and Ipanema areas. The beaches are on the other side! Then I join you some pictures…

 

                                                                            

Unfortunately we were not able to see the Sugar Loaf who is 500 million years old , because the clouds. We decided to climb there next day. Next day we realize this is impossible to climb it, to stiff! So, like a good tourists we toulk the teleferico.

The views from the Sugar Loaf are amaising and specially Copacabana beach and Rio Down town:

                                                        

 

We were not very impressed by Copacabana beach even with 28 degrees but very cloudy at that time of the year while this is already autumn here!

 

                                                                          

 
and prefered Ipanema beach who is more popular without  big hotels and buildings…

We cross the city by bus and went thru some favellas, these are the end of the world ! So poor!
